About this list
Each row on this list records a single debarment action. The same provider can appear more than once when the state took separate actions on different dates. A row can name a firm, an individual, or both at once, so the list covers businesses as well as people.
The file identifies parties by name, and it carries an NPI on some rows: about 29 percent at our last verification. It does not include dates of birth. A candidate match from this list therefore rests on name comparison, supported by an NPI where one is present, and the reviewer should expect to do more verification work than on a match from a list with more identifying fields.
The Treasury publishes the list as a plain text data file limited to the medical debarment category. Some rows carry an expiration date, but New Jersey requires an application for reinstatement, so an expiration date on its own does not establish that a party has been reinstated. Expired actions stay visible as candidate matches in our screening, with the date shown so the reviewer can weigh it.
